Alien

In California's golden light

A story unfolds, day and night

Of dreams and struggles, hope and fear

As immigrants seek a brighter year

The border's call, a siren's song

Draws those seeking refuge, strong

From violence, poverty, and pain

They journey north, with hearts in vain

But deportation's specter looms

A threat to tear families from their rooms

To separate loved ones, far and wide

Leaving only tears, and a sense of divide

In California's fields and cities grand

Immigrants work, with skilled and diligent hand

They contribute, grow, and thrive

Yet fear and uncertainty stay alive

Still, hope endures, a beacon bright

A chance for reform, a new light

In this Golden State, where diversity shines

Immigrants' stories intertwine

With the fabric of California's past

A testament to resilience that will forever last.

My hands are a copy, paste version of my history

But still I ask if my ancestors are listening

This American dream is all just deceiving

Because the future is looking very sickening
